Friends,
Remember the story of the young guy I shared weeks back? The one miraculously healed from a spinal injury after a terrible automobile crash? Remember him?
Good. He got married yesterday and, here is his love story.
Aunty Lara, My wedding (20th Dec) was successfully successful. Thanks to you and your fans for all the prayers. God answered us. I want to quickly share with us "why I decided to marry my wife". Its conncted to the accident experience.
Few weeks after I met you in July 2009, I sized you up and concluded within me, "platonic friends" and nothing more.
Reasons........
1. You were too skinny for my liking.
2. You were too short for my liking. I wanted someone I could hug conveniently.
3. You were in 300l and I was very ready to settle down in 2010. No time to waste waiting.
It wasn't easy to forget the 1-2 minutes spent together after fellowship on saturdays but my strong reasons won't leave me so I moved on.

I was eyeing someone else.
Reasons........
1. She's not skinny, not chubby. Just average.
2. She's not short. Almost same height wit me. Hugging will be super convenient.
3. She's a graduate.
She introduced me to her mum and I was impressed at the warm reception her mum gave me. I felt accepted. We kept communicating well till the accident came in.
Few weeks into the accident, she came visiting with her mum. Her mum was used to giving me a hand shake each time we met. In my lying state with a cervical collar fixed to my neck, she stretched her hand to shake me but the paralysis won't let me respond.
Few minutes later her mum stepped out of the ward with my care giver. About five minutes later, they left the hospital. The care giver told me she asked what the nature of the accident was. When she was told its a spinal cord injury she asked if it was the same thing that happened to a "popular nigerian gospel artist". "Yes"

Since that day, communication became very difficult. She ignores my calls and the few times she picks I hear excuses such as.....
1. I'm in the office. I'll call you later.
2. I'm in traffic. So much noise here. I'll call you later.
3. I'm in the kitchen and I don't talk when cooking. I'll call you later. She never called later.
I saw her after my recovery. Saw her mum too and she said "your face looks familiar". Enough of her story here.

Let me continue talking about you.
Few days into the accident, you were supposed to go back to school (OOU Ago Iwoye) but rather you left for UCH Ibadan where I was on admitted. The hospital management won't let anyone pass the night in the hospital but you found a way to sort that out in town. Its your first time in the City of Ibadan.
For almost 2 weeks you assisted in feeding me, giving me water, wiping my sweat, fanning me, wheeling me for X-rays and M.R.I etc.
After I was discharged from the hospital, I couldn't face the stress of going to church alone but you will leave home (Ewupe area of Ota Ogun State) with your parents for church( winners' chapel. Canaanland) you alight in church and pretend as if you were going into the tabernacle but rather find your way back to Canaanland gate then to Animashaun area towards Sango just to come assist me from my mother's house to church. I remember how you switched off your phone so that your parents won't reach you after service so you can help me back home.

One day I asked myself these questions....
1. What else do I want in a wife?
2. Isn't she a graduate now?
3. Is she still skinny?
4. Where is the tall one I felt I could hug conveniently?
5. Is a short caring babe not better than a tall babe who doesn't care?
There and then I decided I will marry you. I remember I called to ask which month should we get married.
"Do you love me?" "Will you marry me?" "Will you be my wife?" These questions never existed cos they were absolutely irrelevant. All I asked was when we should get married and now we are.
Sweetie mi, Once again I want to thank you for all you have allowed God to use you for in my life. You won my love with your care, humility and respect. It amazes me when you pick my call and you say good day "Sir".
You bend your knees to greet me. It amazes me cos of the fact that you studied English Language 1st and 2nd degree. In this generation? Most Girls in your class greet their men what's up?
Girl am so amazed at all the things you do
Yes I want to build my whole world around you
So I promise you forever and for always that, sweetie mi, iyawo mi, Ololufe mi, Ore mi, Alayo mi, I will love you for ever. I see us at our grand-children's weddings.
